Greetings everyone! I’m Mitch and I just turned 18 two weeks ago. I live in South Carolina, but will probably go to either Atlanta or Charlotte for my tattoo.
I’ve been looking around various tattoo sites to figure out some ideas. I’m enjoying the theme of fire, but I’m fearful that this is too cliche and overdone, as I believe are death and Asiatic symbols.
At the moment I’m leaning towards either a phoenix or a dragon tattoo. I want the tattoo stretch around my chest and back. I want it to be hidden when wearing a shirt, as I don’t want my tattoo to mess with potential employment in the future.
If I got a dragon tattoo I’d want it to be a kind of duel between two of them (possibly juxtaposing between a fire and ice dragon?)
I’m open to all ideas and will appreciate any constructive criticism.
Some things that I characterize myself with are:
-I’m a USC Gamecock
-I am an activist for peace
-I am adamant in the fight for equal human rights in the world
-I am a gay rights supporter
-I love music (hard rock like Rise Against and Avenged Sevenfold)
-I plan to go into medicine
-I am a firm believer in the teachings of Ghandi
I hope that you guys can help me brainstorm potential tattoos. I want this to be a good tattoo that I’ll be happy with, and as such I am willing to pay good money. I don’t want a tattoo for the sake of having one, but to have it actually mean something.
welcome to the forum ๐
1st of all no matter that tattoo you think of some where in the world someone will have something along the same lines so a tattoo being cliche wouldn’t put me off at all.
phoenix’s or a dragon’s both make excellent tattoos , im currently working on a dragon ( asian ) half sleeve which i already adore .
seeing the most the things on your list that you characterize yourself as are peaceful i would personally get a dragon with its mouth closed and not so angry eyes .
this doesn’t mean it has to be girly they are many traditional dragon paintings like this ๐

Do you guys think that this would make a good tattoo (without the borders and words. Just the man and the symbols.
the symbols would be better around him more than over him like in that picture .
also you will need to look for a good portrait artist
Hi
It would make a good tattoo but as suggested the symbols would be better shifted so the form a border around the subject.
Also a good portrait artist is not going to come cheap.
Take Care

Excuse me for sounding dumb ..what is a GAME COCK????:confused:
That is the team name for University of South Carolina. United States Collegiate Sports Teams.
Lol. I didn’t know what it was either :o.
I agree with what the others said about moving the symbols & finding a good portrait artist to do it some justice ๐
