i got a cross on my back which i designed for my little sister that passed away, i want it bigger because i was worried about it hurting alot as it was my first tattoo and on my spine… (yea, i know i shudda manned up, but i was 17 lol)
anyway here it is its been photo shopped so its easier to see and add to… hope it helps… and any designs whether i like them or not will be very much appreciated as this means alot to me… thanks alot 🙂
P.S. im only looking to make the cross bigger and be of a similar style for the expansion
Can you provide a picture of your back with the actual ink on it, so we can tell what you have to work with for surface area? This can help in the process.
here we go…
lol thats y i need it made bigger!
oh its tiny 😮
i think it will actually be hard to expand it , to be honest i would cover it up with a nicer more detailed cross with the same meaning to you .
First of all, sorry to hear about your sister. I too lost my sister several yrs ago.
As far as your design goes, you could add to it, but I think butterfly is right in saying a cover up would work better. it’s so small, that if you add to it its likely to be lost. however, here are a couple of designs i found which could possibly work, the one with the cats is a little tacky, but you could obviously leave these out and just have the wings, or you could go for an angel using the wings representing your sister maybe?
love the 1st flash added by CruisingComet and im quite sure it would cover the old one easily because its so small it could be lost in clever shading
yea i quite like the look of the first 1, but wud still rather have my cross then get it expanded on id like about an extra 2 inches in width from ti[p to tip and about 4 in height if possible and once thats complete im gonna design wings of some description…
Hi
I have given this some thought and based on the size of the cross tattoo have you considered this:
Get a much bigger cross done but have that small tattoo done out so it looks like a brass plaque which has been fastened to the top of the wood on the bigger cross?
You can then add the banner or name etc to the larger cross.
This will show that your sister is of prime importance and you do not have to cover it up that way.
You can easily add a full back piece cross and have that as the crowning part of the tattoo.
Here is some nice examples of crosses

Sorry for your loss – I lost 3 brothers and I found that the feeling never goes away just gets more bearable with time.
Take Care
