I’ve seen quite a few Atlas tattoos online, but I haven’t liked any of them.

I want a profile view of Atlas holding the celestial sphere on his shoulders.

I like these as a framework:

but I don’t like the body or hair, and how his head is crooked to the side so much.

Isn’t this THE statue? For me, either you get famous art as it is, or don’t get famous art.

Well i wasn’t exactly going for a reproduction of the statue. I just wanted something based upon Atlas as the Greek figure, which is pretty popular in different cultures and not always depicted the same way. Like I said, I do like the statue as a great starting point, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted it exactly like that.

The more I look at it, the more I like it though. I guess we’ll see where it goes…

I love the Atlas idea for a tattoo… think i will bear that in mind for future… stay with it, it will look great!
