Ok, I have been thinking of getting a tattoo for quite some time, and I think I am finally ready. I have run through several ideas in my head, and I think I have finally settled on something.

My ancestors are Celtic, and it is very important to me. I am really into Celtic culture and heritage and what not. So I have always known I was going to do something Celtic. I was thinking about doing a Celtic cross, and I may at some point, but I decided against it for my first tattoo.

I am leaning towards the Celtic triple spiral. It was used since ancient times in Celtic art. Its exact meaning has been lost, but generally spirals represent connectivity to nature.

It looks like this, I was thinking about putting a small one on my inner bicep, covered by most short sleves, but in T-shirts it would probably hang out a little bit.

Any thoughts on the idea, and maybe thoughts on a better place to put it?

    Hi Bigmac

Yes from my own studies it suggests the pre-christian belief that all are connected by ley power making all people animals and nature one.

I would possibly suggest over the heart area?

This way you can keep it covered and also keeps arms free for those sleeves you will get once you start with the ink addiction. 😉

I really like the design and I would even entwine some ivy or misletoe in there as it was considered plants of mystical power, as was the acorn.

Thanks for the input, I’ve been thinking about it and I think I am going to go with the left chest to symbolize the connection with the heart, and it covers easy.

Still debating the ivy, I kinda like the straight forward look

    Hi Bigmac

You should go with your gut and keep it simple.
My thoughts are you can always add to it afterwards.

Looking forward to seeing the finished result and glad you found something you are happy to get done.
