always want to tat a tiger or a chinese dragon on the back of my head. but just wondering whether it will affect the hair growth at that area? this sounds maybe weird, but I do not want to show it all the time. 😀

    Hi

It is possible to have your head tattooed and not damage the hair follicle because the root of it is in the subcutis which is well below the surface where the ink is deposited.

This means that your hair will continue to grow through the tattoo normally.

I have known several get their heads tattooed and have hair to cover it. The only thing is they fade quite fast because of the constant exposure to sunlight.

    Hi Matthew,

Thanks a lot. Even with kind of long hair coverage, you estimate how long it would take to fade away? and how it would take for a tattoo exposed?

    Thanks,

    Hi Colossus

This is a guestimate as everybody is different and depends on location in world and sunlight strength etc.

For a covered head I would say a touch would be needed around the 10-12 year mark if you wanted to keep it really crisp.

For exposed prob talking 7 year mark.
