Well i’m looking to get my third tat now, and it’s going to be lyrics, specifically from a GNR song. (hardcore fan if the screen name hasn’t implied that already).

Originally wanted to get this on one side of ribs, but that’s probably too much for little space, so i’m thinking one line on one side, and the next on my other ribs. Simple black text, with a text style that is appropriate for the lyrics of course…but i realllly wanna get some blue in this tattoo, especially since i don’t get nearly as much sun exposure on my rib area so the blue would look pretty good on the lighter skin tone and it’s just my favorite color. Any ideas on how to do this? I thought of getting some kind of blue shading behind the letters as if the letters were amidst a blue haze of some sort…or getting a text style that had thick black outline and some blue inside the letters (if that makes sense i hope it does).
ideas welcome…i really want blue in here but i’m not sure what the best way would be…and i’d like enough blue so that it’s noticeable and not something you have to look hard for.
Ok sorry for the wall of text, this tat is permanent so i want to be as precise as possible so that it comes out just the way i want it to. Thanks in advance!
i’ll have to see what the tattooist suggests, i forgot to mention i’m a hairy guy, so my chest and stomach hair (which mind you is NOT a small bit) doesn’t leave a wide space on my ribs, where as someone with little/no chest and stomach hair would have plenty of space to run onto the front side of the torso if they needed, i’ll have to stick with the main ribs and more of the back area…i want the letters to be relatively bigger, not where you have to be right next to me to read.
and i don’t want any roses b/c i’ve already got a tat of two pistols crossed with a rose in the middle on my upper right arm, so any more roses is a little overkill for me really. thanks for the suggestion though, i just should have mentioned these things b/c they’re kinda important lol.
my dear friend, wax touched my chest hair once a couple years ago….NEVER again. NEVER. i’d happily shave some of the side area if only a little is going to be under the thinner hair on the side of my stomach/ab section, but most of it is dark and just distracting from the tattoo if it was placed there.
tattoo has faded nicely since i got it two februarys ago. i also have one on my left forearm that i’ll show just b/c this is a tat forum after all lol..
this one has faded nicely too, but all i have are pics from the day of.
