I am self taught. I completed approximately 50 tattoos. I recently moved to a relatively small town (population about 60,000). I talked to almost every shop owner in town and found the guy I felt was right for me and began my apprenticeship. He recently signed me off. My question is, what are some ways for me to gain notoriety and build a client base?
My mentor is letting me bring in some close friends and family to practice my first tattoos shortly, perhaps you can discuss with yours about doing something similar so that you can build a portfolio? and then i would turn to facebook and instagram, i have also gone out on weekends to network and meet new potential clients for when i am ready to tattoo.
