    Sakyant – Thai Sacred Tattoos

Given below some information about Thai holy tattoos. The Thai people strongly believe that these tattoos have mysterious power to protect the bearer of these tattoos. Such tattoos are known as “Sakyant” by the Thai people. The word “Sak” – meaning tattoos, and “Yant” – meaning “Yantra”. In the past, Sakyant are magical tattoos for the ancient Thai warriors, they signified manhood and protect the soldiers when they faced their enemies in the battlefield. Now at this new age, Sakyant is no longer just for the soldiers but for anyone who is determine to reach out for them and ready for it.

Hi, I’m wondering if maybe you or anyone can help me. I’m extremely interested in getting yant paedt tidt tattooed on my back, maybe even in UV ink. However, I currently do not have the time to travel to Thailand (although I have been before and thoroughly enjoyed it). I only want to get it done the traditional way with the needle-stylus. Does anyone know any place in the U.S. that offers this? Also, does anyone have any further information on yant paedt tidt? I know all about it’s general meaning but I’m looking for a breakdown of the actual words and a translation into English. Any help is appreciated–thank you!
