I am considering buying a tattoo kit from New York Tattoo. I want to get the professional kit (it’s got 2 machines, a bunch of other supplies and an autoclave).

Is this a good decision? It’s a lot of money. Or should I buy piece by piece?

Also, there are a lot of machines for sale ($99 or under) that are stainless steel. I’ve heard that the best to buy are those made of iron or brass. Would I be wasting my money by buying a stainless steel one? Or, should I get one for now until I am more experienced?

This is mostly going to be a hobby for now. I don’t plan on getting rich tattooing. It’s just something I’ve always thought would be fun and, being naturally artistic, I thought it would come easy for me. My husband is pushing me to do it mostly for him now and then add clients later (so that’s why I want to get the right equipment now).

Any other tips would also be appreciated.
