currently graduated from highschool, in all 4 years of school alot of the time was spent drawing, everyone in school has told me i should look into it and even before they said anything, ive been interested in tattooing. every test in school and note book i had where flooded with drawings, tribal designs, ect i have a huge portfolio and the drawing keep adding up, if anyone has advice on how to get into an apprentice ship let me know. thanks
first thing you will need to do would be to talk to an artist them selves and find out from personal experience…… even if you go and ask if its alright to hang out there at the shop and get an idea of what the job is like first…… go ask around dude….
Take your artwork with you also. A lot of wannabe tattoo artists will have little or no artistic ability and will just be going for the cool factor.
Take your artwork with you show you are serious and beprepared for the long haul as you will be expected to either pay for the apprenticeship or at least work for no or very little money.
But make the first move and visit a local artist and get some feedback on your drawings etc.
