I’m sickened by this. There’s a tattoo shop, in a mall. The “employees” get paid vacations, medical benefits, etc. In my opinion, they are taking away from the art…they are in it for the cash money baby $$$$$$$$. This is disgusting…I saw a thing about this on the news, and wow, I was ashamed.

This is in a mall in New Jersey…go figure. Just google Tattoo Nation New Jersey Mall.

    Mall tattoos….psh! I hate it.

It just means tattoos are becoming more commercial/mainstream… There’s nothing wrong with benefits. Everyone needs insurance and money. I’m proud that artists are getting paid now. They should get rewarded for their hard work. I wouldn’t go to a mall tattoo parlor personally, but that’s just me…

Yea, when I first was watching I thought “neat.” But as the story went on I just kept thinking oh my god. Some of the things they are saying are jsut…well I don’t know. Just makes me think. They said something about “not having time for custom” and I was stressed by that remark. I don’t know, nevermind, ignore my rants. Yea benifits are good, but, I just think that they aren’t in it for the right reasons. And tattoos are an art form, a way to express yourself, if you have to pick something off a wall then why bother. Just my opinion…

Eh… it’s sad, but that’s how everything starts becoming corporate. I’m not for it but, if capitalist bitches want a piece of the tat industry they better work their asses off. But I definitely think artists should have work and ample resources. I don’t want to see tattoo artists starve anymore!

Well said!! Lots of my friends are either tattoo artist or piercers and most times they just sit around and twiddle their thumbs because they have no customers.

I like the idea of getting paid hourly and woul dexpect that they also made some commission from customers too.

Not having time for custom tatts (if that is what you reffeing to) is bull shit!! 😮

Either way I keep hereing in my local studios that the tattooing business is suffering lots and no one is coming in for tatts or piercings.

I think Baglady is onto somthing when she says that they are in it for all the wrong reasons which eventually is going to hurt sales im sure.
