    Hi guys,

I am going to get a portrait tattoo done and since it means a lot to me I want to be really sure that it is done perfectly. I am willing to travel to the far corners of the world to get it done by the best portrait tattooist in the world (no matter where it is I will invite my wife and make a vacation out of it).

The only problem is… Who is the best portrait tattoist?

    Thanks,
    Mike

St. Louis is no tourist destination but we have Mo. I’ve never used her but I’ve seen her work – phenomenol.

    See it here.

there are so many worldwide tallented artists that are phenominal at portrait work, your best bet is to browse the net with google, firefox.. etc etc
check out the different artists work and make a choice for yourself, but remember that the such as Kim, corey and kat at High Voltage you will pay top money because of the publicity…. personally my choices would be darren stares, kev shercliffe or bob tyrrell..
as im in the uk so i would probably shoot off upto kev shercliffe his work is awesome and he is such a genuine guy, or even stig who works with him….

My advice is not to go with mainstream artists that are on tv because of their LOOKS and…. their talent… Do research on portrait artists in general and find an artist that YOU like. If they are the best artist in your mind then go for it. As stated before, no artist is the -best- in the world. You just gotta find what you’re looking for. Communicate with people who have had portraits and go from there. It takes a lot of searching and research but once you find the right artist, you’ll know. Good luck.
