So I got my sixth tattoo on Monday and it is SICK! It’s a cover and I am totally in love with it. Anyhoo…in the past I’ve used everything…Lubriderm, A&D, Noxxema…all with pretty good results. This time I found something called (don’t laugh) “Boudreaux’s Butt Paste”. This stuff is amesome! My tattoo is crazy sofr and there’s been no tightness or crustiness. It’s a diaper rash ointment that is “non-stinging, all natural…and the ingredients seem to be exactly what one should use:

Zinc Oxide (16%): skin protectant, sunscreen, antiseptic, stimulates healing process
Boric Acid: antiseptic that stimulates healing process
Castor Oil: non-Comedogenic moisturizer (does not clog pores)
Mineral Oil: non-Comedogenic moisturizer (does not clog pores) **commonly known as baby oil
    Parrafin: moisturizer…also emulsifies the ointment
Peruvian Balsam: essential oil with antiseptic properties and stimulates natural healing process
Petrolatum: cousin of petroleum…used to bind ointmemnt- also adds value as a moisturizer

It spreads on easily, washes off super easy and has a pleasant smell…the only drawback is that it may stain clothing and fabrics. Now that my commercial is over (LOL) here’s the deal. My artist is currently reccomending Aquaphor, but is looking for something that might be better at healing than that. I told her about this…and thought it would be a completely unique suggestion and that it works wonders. Plus, the name is just hilarious!

So have any of you used this product? Does anyone know how prolific reactions to Zinc Oxide are? Any other comments?

    Thanks folks!! :D:D:D:D

No, I’m just really excited about it and I want to see if anyone else in the world of tattoos has ever heard of it…that’s all. Far as I know it’s privately held anyhow…but a prharmacist in Lousiana.

A pharmacist in Louisiana eh? You wouldn’t happen to be a drug peddler, would you? From The Bayou State perhaps?

 Yeah…you pegged me off the bat. I’m from Arizona…and I got the tube of this tuff from my mom late last year from while she ws traveling. I just think that when one of us finds something else that works is should be shared…not everyone’s skin is the same…som can do lotion (i can’t) some need something heavy like a&d…and some people like something totally natural…and that’s me…

*checks her panties* nopers, no wad there…and I know that you’re just giving me shit…I just wanted to explain myself a little bit because the post does seem to read like a commercial. I just know that a lot of newbies to tattoos go exactly on what the artist tells them as far as aftercare goes…which it’s good to listen to a professional, but you also have to be smart enough to know that your own skin may not like the reccomended regimen. My artist uses Aquaphor (a lotion) which I know from past experience I can’t do…all lotion seems to sting my skin. A&D is okay for me, but it’s hard to wash off and my skin is fairly fragile and I’ve had scabs tear and such when having to wash heavily…

Trust me KH, I’m a smarta$$ at heart and I can see when it’s being thrown back at me…

    Much Love…*MUAH*

    Hmm

So does that mean bathing in the pigeon droppings and scraped pig fat is not what I should have been using for my tattoo aftercare?

Damn these artists who lied to me!

    😀

*lmao* to that i’d have to say yes. and i’m not saying that one should not follow the artist’s instructions…i’m just saying that one should know alternatives and even seasoned veterans should know that there may be something better out there. Hell, I know people who use nothing othar than Johnson’s baby bath and baby lotion…and I know people who put nothing at all on their new ink. It’s all a very personal decision.

Stay away from the poo and fat…

now we have the commercial advertising (spam), poo and fat out the way can you stop talking a load of bollocks….

you say that the tattoo is sick and it was a cover, but you chose not to listen to your atist and follow their aftercare treatment and they deal with tattoo’s every day in a profession capacity …. i wouldnt wish that it fucks up on you but it would teach you a lesson if stuff your shouting out about made the ink drop out.

    THE END

actually, I talked to her before I ever put the cream on…and I did use the Aquaphor for the first night but it burned like hell (lotion ALWAYS does that to me). So, contrary to your little tirade about all this…I did listen to my artist and the ink’d judt fine…but thanks so much for the concern. Maybe you should know the WHOLE story before you scold someone.

BTW…it’s REALLY hard for something topical to “pull” ink out. The ink is deposited into the third skin layer…far beyond the reach of what you’re rubbing on top. Ever heard that Vaseline (petroleum jelly) fades ink? That’s all they used for years and years…all the “it’ll pull the ink out” garbage is simply that.
