Sorry to put this here – there isn’t a piercing discussion thing that I could see and I figured more people would see it here – forgive the O/Tness!

I’m not generally into piercings any more, not for me anyway, I used to have about 30 of them when I went through my ‘rebellious teenage phase’ lol but most are retired now. But I love the look of the v. labret and I think my lips are just the right amount of plumpness for one!

Anybody know of the pros and cons? Do they reject easily as they’re almost a surface piercing? What’s the pain (piercing and healing) like in comparison to traditional labret (I used to have that done – any worse?). Is the healing for the v. labret as bad/restrictive as tongue healing? (I had that done too and I’d love to have it done again but wouldn’t go through that week of pain again for anything!)

I dunno, I’m just a bit squeamish about the fact that you can see it coming out the top – I love the look of it but it looks painful – I think about how much a split lip hurts and imagine this being a thousand times worse, but then I guess there’s not that much difference between that and the traditional one?

I have done a couple of V.lebrets and they have accepted pretty well from what i was told tho..ha

they are pretty painful cause you are going through a rough part of the lip where they is seemingly more fatty tissue then there is in just a regular lip peircing

but its a personal feeling i guess…tell me how it goes if you get it one

    Hi Azure

I was chatting with a few friends who have them and what I was told if you can survive a tongue pierce you can manage a v labret.

There is a fairly high rejction rate but that is mainly down to poor aftercare – you are going through a part that is prone to bacteria so would need to be really careful with it and can take a while to heal apparently.
