Hi guys, Finally got round to sitting down and doing some serious thinking about my angel wings tattoo and to be honest its not the ideal tattoo to have for a first tattoo is it. SO i decided to get my daughters name tattood on my back.
Only problem is as the date gets closer ( 9th april ) im kinda shitting my self. im going to wuss out i kno it and i dont want to. i dont care about all the pain is part of the process crud. why put ya self through pain for no reason. my pain tollerance aint that great. i only have to paper cut my self and im screaming. a neighbour told me that she used cream for piles on her arm and it numbed it, WAS she joking???
the design is about 5 inches long and 2 inches high and it will go between my shoulder blades over my spine which i was told will hurt like hell.
im getting this picture but with out lady and all the sissy stuff, just the writing in black.
Don’t worry so much, no matter what it is going to hurt. I won’t lie to and say “and it’s nothing at all pfft just a tickle”. It’s also not that bad though. The pain is more of a stingy pain that is very tolerable. Some parts do hurt more then others. My shoulder and inner arm near the armpit weren’t fun but it is only temperary.
When all else fails just remember this, paris hilton has tattoos. Are you tougher then paris hilton?
I found the first 5 minutes were fairly painfull…
But then I seemed to relax into it… it was only when we had a five minute break and she started again did it hurt but only for a very short period of time…
But when I went back for the design to be finished off.. I hardly noticed the pain…
I have a severe phobia of needles… but I just took some travel sickness tablets to stop me from feeling sick… and just made sure that I had plenty to eat prior to getting tattoo’d to make sure that my blood suger level was up… just to stop me from passing out…
i rang my tattoo artist today and he said if it gets to bad i cant take it rather than me walk out with half the job done he will use something called super juice i think, what is it?:confused:
It’s pretty much an anesthetic spray to numb the area while tattooing. I’ve never seen it used or talked to anyone in person who has used it but I’ve read a couple different reactions. One I read someone didn’t know it was being used and thought the artist had extremely gentle hands. Another said it worked but it hurt like hell when it was done as the pain somewhat hit all at once. Another issue is it can also wipe off the stencil and that could run into poor line work. Also not many tattoo artists know how to use the stuff properly as it isn’t that commonly used so be careful and make sure the guy really knows his stuff (don’t always believe what you’re told either).
I can’t say I recommend using it or not. Personally I wouldn’t as I don’t know how it would effect the tattoo or it’s healing at all but I’m guessing it would work fine enough.
*edit* When I say numb it won’t make it painless, just help.
well ive had it done today, mixed emotions towards it tho. it did and didnt hurt if tht makes sense. not to sure on the care sheet for my tattoo tho, when he finished he rubbed it over with sum alcohol and detox stuff then put cling film over it which he said to kep on for 3 hrs min which i kept on for 7 hrs and the care sheet said i had to put cold water on it gently dabbing not rubbing it and apply more clingfilm for bed then when i wake up put BEPANTHEN on 3 times a day with more clingy shi*. sumthin gs wrong here aint it, everyone else said forget the clingfilm. i hate the stuff coz they tape im using is making my skin itch and i thought it was the tat but wasnt. would you say its safe to not bother with cling film and let the air get to it so it can propperly scab over?
Hi,
My tattooist suggests for everyone he tattoos to take off the clingwrap after an hour and gently clean the tattoo with non-scented soap, dabbing, not rubbing. Apply Bepanthen 3 times a day, not smothering it in the stuff, but giving the whole tattoo a nice thin coat. On the aftercare card, it didn’t say anything about putting clingwrap on it again, but every tattooist is different. Hope that helps.
Oh, and your tattoo will probably start itching sometime anyway, it’s normal.
Yea the itching is pretty much normal and a part of the healing process. This is what my artist recommends.
Tattoo Aftercare Instructions
1. Gently remove bandage 1-2 hours after procedure.
2. Wash tattoo using clean hands and antibacterial pump soap, such as Dial or Softsoap.
3. Pat dry using a clean paper towel and allow to airdry.
4. Let it breathe.
5. If needed, massage a very small amount of fragrance-free lotion, like Curel, onto the tattoo.
Most Important Factors in Healing a Tattoo:
* Cleanliness (Never touch with dirty hands.)
* Allow it to breathe.
* Light moisture.
* Protect it from the sun.
* No additional trauma to the skin.
* No water logging or soaking in a bathtub or swimming in a pool.
The human body is strong and as long as you keep it clean it should heal. I do use a little bit of the skin lotion also which helped. I used Lubriderm advanced lotion which worked great. Like joker said though all artists have their own methods.
well so far so good, how do u lot manage to get ur cream on your back. im doing it 3 times a day 11am then 3 pm and then 6pm feels ok but ill admitt it is at this moment stinging when i stretch and move my arms about.
Now ive had a tattoo and felt the pain is it fair to get numbing cream with my next one, i dont think id hack the pain on my ribs, my spine was bad enuff.
