SO, I was thinking of getting something on my back based off the poem “The Stolen Child” by Yeats and the movie, Pan’s Labyrinth. In a nutshell, they are about a child being led into this fantasy world by fairies because basically, the real world sucks.
(You can find the poem here: http://www.online-literature.com/yeats/816/)

I wanted it set across a night sky/galaxy (dark blue) look with a crescent moon (PL).
Then I was thinking of either:
    1) A tree, either from Pan’s (shown below) or just a different tree altogether. In the movie, the girl going into the tree is her first task in becoming princess of the underground realm. And in a book that was based on the poem, kids who are taken by the “fairies” go into the woods to hide with the other “fairies” (other children who were taken in the past).

    OR
    2) A waterfall. In the poem, he writes about Glencar Waterfall in Ireland…and I like waterfalls
I’d like to have both but I feel like that would just make it look too..busy (?). Unless someone can think of someway for me to incorporate both?

Along the bottom or side somewhere, I’d like to have the lines from the poem:
    Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand

And lastly, I want a child in there holding hands with a flying fairy (or two). If I get the tree, I’d like to have the child going towards the tree with the fairies (since that’s where the fantasy comes in).
I’m not sure if I want just a silhouette of the figures or something more detailed. I’m leaning more towards the silhouette though.

Sorry for such a long description, I like to be thorough, hehe
Any comments, suggestions, etc.. for this?
I’d draw out an idea of what I want but..I’m not much of an artist and it’d just end up a couple stars, a bare tree, and some swirls ahaha ^^

sounds like you have spent a long time thinking about this already.

I really like the idea of trying to incorporate a waterfall into the tattoo. i love water ajnd waterfalls and think if you can get a great artist who could capture that properly it would be great.

Actually, I only started thinking about this last week when I couldn’t sleep..
I like to go with my ideas 🙂

But yeah, any thoughts on the child? Detail vs silhouette?
I think that’s what I’m having the most problem with now..
