I’ll be turning 18 in August, and I’m looking at getting a small tattoo on my back to celebrate the occasion, on top of my right shoulder blade. I’m trying to look for designs and such but I’m having a tough time finding places that don’t require you to pay to look through what they have. I don’t want to walk into a tat parlor without knowing exactly what I want prior to going in there.

Specifically, I’m looking for tattoos of about 3 – 5 inches in diameter of asian decent picturing a phoenix or other mystical bird. I’ve been looking for one of these for about a year now, and can’t find one I’m happy with.

    Help please?

    Hi

First of all my advice is relocate the tattoo to say chest or upper arm. Tattoos are addictive and ppl rarely stay at just the one.

No sense in ruining the biggest potential canvas you have – your back 😉

Here are a few links that might inspire – you can always take a few and tell the artist what aspects you like and they will draw it up for you.

    Thanks for the help!

That first one I was actually very seriously considering getting before you posted it, I also really like the last one.

As far as changing it to the upper arm or chest goes, I already plan on getting a half sleeve that extends to my chest eventually after I get this first one, so that location is already owned x]

Tattoos outside of these two ideas have really never appealed to me, I suppose that if I decided to though I could always expand on the ink I already have, by incorporating it into the design.
