red ink for me has always taken a little longer to heal,
i dont know why? just does…
but with my latest work (which was done about 4 weeks ago now) areas that are red seem to be drying right out and become sorta rough. ive just now started re applying some bepanthen cream to hopefully heal this up. prior i was using moisuriser but everything seemed to have healed up just right all except these red ink areas.
any ideas what the deal is???
Hi
I took this from my research:
Red โ This is perhaps one of the most allergic reacting of the inks because it is usually created from iron oxide (rust).
The use of both Cadmium Red and Cinnabar are to be avoided at all costs due to their high level of toxicity.
They can also contain Naptha-AS, which is highly flammable and can be carcinogenic. This is mainly used in fuels such as paraffin. An extract of Naptha is Napthol, which whilst less volatile and allergy causing is still quite toxic.
There are other synthetic pigments used in plastics, which can replicate the red pigment.
Just have to keep using the cream and wait it out it will settle in time but can take upto 8 weeks.
Take Care
Matthew
