How long should a new tattoo be left before it can be exposed to direct sun? It is sooo hot, I don’t wanna spend all of the summer wearing jeans !!

    2 weeks minimum.

Though, to be honest, the more sun your tattoo gets, the quicker it fades, even after it heals. Personally, I’d just learn to deal with jeans when I was outside.

Well I put a high factor suncream on my others when I am out in the sun. I hate wearing jeans in summer, I much prefer shorts or summer dresses. And I don’t see the point in having a tattoo on my leg if it is going to be hidden all the time anyway. Thanks for the advice 🙂

OOh also, when would it be safe to put suncream on it??

Yeah seriously look after that new ink!

I grew up in Australia but have spent the last 20 years in the Northern Hemisphere

Sum damage isn’t that good for your skin regardless of whether you have tattoos or not!

Tattoo ink shouldn’t be exposed to mid-day sun if at all possible.

It just gets wrecked by the rays and what is the point of spending so much money to have it browned and blurred?
