Well iam 20 years old, I have a full sleeve and a good number of tattoos and ive been looking into geting a tattoo done on my neck. Ive been flirting with the idea for awhile now. I know theres alot of negativity regarding getin a job ect but i plan on being in the barber business, and i was wondering what people that understand have to say about it. and input is greatly appreciated
Not trying to sound rude or anything;
BUT if you already have a full sleeve and a number of other tattoos why are you worried about getting one on your neck?! && if you want to be a barber you can always open your own shop and be your own boss lol. Then you’d made you rules on tattoos and stuff.
Yeah, I know you can wear sleeves to cover but I don’t think being a barber and having exposed tattoos would really matter. My barber has both arms sleeved and a sick throat piece….and he’s like 75 years old lol.

The neck face and hands are the last taboo areas taht yopu can get inked.
The thing you have to deal with is that it will effect employment if you decide to change jobs and some customers (if own boss) will not get their hair cut by a guy with tatts – especially on the neck.
That said many will not care as long as you do a great job at a fair price.
If you are confident that you can find work with it then get it done. If you have any doubts i would say leave it until you build up regular clients and your business becomes stable.

Thanks for the input guys, and ya i know what your saying but there is the factor of me being able to cover up all my current tattoos. and yea like you said different clients have different opinions but hey to each theyre own i say. My other concern is the barber business isnt gonna pay the bills so ive been looking into construction jobs for the also im pretty sure theyre not too strict on any tattoo rules.
Also the tattoo im looking to get isnt nothing crazy just my daughters name in fancy script, dont know if that will help any.
you are so young still. i wouldn’t do anything extreme right now until you figure out what you want to do. Even though you may be your own boss, it doesn’t necessarily mean your clients will want to come to you with tattoos on your neck. There are still alot of people who see tattoos negatively.
