Okay….last year I made the mistake of getting a tattoo with my husband (at the time’s) name in the middle of it. It is a flaming heart…tribal style…with Stu on the back of my neck. I just recently got a divorce….would love some ideas on cover ups. I know….i was warned by the artist at the time…i’ll admit idiot right here!! ha! would appreciate any advice or ideas anyone has….like tribal style tattoos, celestial things, lotus flowers, i’m pretty open to suggestions. Thanks in advance!!! If you would like to see a pic of the tattoo it is on my profile.

    Hi

i took a look at the tattoo and its in a bad area to be covered up but the stu part could prob be covered up and coloured in !
purples can cover well but that tattoo doesnt look very old at all ?
I think for best results you would be best to get it lasered to lighten it ( just the stu part )

did he get a tattoo done for you also ?

Thanks for the idea Tana…I actually have a cousin who does laser removal. The tattoo is about a year old now…that pic was taken probably 6 mos ago or so. Actually got it done on my 7 year itch anniversary (while he was in Iraq)….funny part is we got a divorce 1 year later to the day of our anniversary. Ha! Ain’t life ironic! And of course I was the only one who was silly enough to tattoo it on me.

    Hi

Just a few thoughts on it

You could laser it which would open the possibilities to just about any other tattoo.

You could have Stu altered to Star and have a several coloured stars surrounding it.

Another is that you could have the words turned into a lattice around some floral design so they eventually turn into vines or similar.

A tribal piece could be done over it but would likely scream cover up -m the best way it to try and work the tattoo into the new tattoo rather than just blacking/deep colouring over.

A lotus flower done in black and deep purples or reds would likely cover it up but would need a pro artist.

Sorry about the break up – these things are never easy.

    Hi

The last time I picked up my pens was over 10+ years ago :p (No rush to go back to it)

My skills at best were ‘average’ so prob best speaking to a pro to get a design hooked up but any decent artist can do that for you.
