    I want to get a tattoo kind of like this:

    But I heard it’s not good to tattoo the area above the armpit. Is it safe? Thanks.

    Hi teh

    The area is fine to tattoo although likely to hurt more as very soft tissue area.
    It is better to avoid tattooing inside the armpit because it has a high bacterial content and also the area underneath has lymphnodes which deal with immune system and is always better to leave these well alone.

    Having these inflamed is a really painful experience best avoided.

    awesome design and superb placement, just be careful about how far round the arm and how far down into the armpit the artist goes….. there are a couple of nippy spots but it is not a life threatening pain…

    As everyone else has said it’s safe to do. My right arm design is working towards a very similar design placement and I’ve gotten some of the real sensitive parts their done but it’s nothing you can’t handle I’m sure.

    normally on traditional japanese style sleeve tattoo’s the armpit is left and not tattooed

    i wouldn’t fancy my arm pit to be tattooed without being knocked out 1st
