I’m going to get gastric bypass surgery this winter and hope to get down to about 200 pounds. (currently about 350)

Here’s my question – If I get a tatoo now (on my shoulder) will it be distorted after my weight loss?

I’d like to get it done now, but I wanted to her what other people had to say.

Thanks in advance for your responses

I would wait. The weight loss after gastric bypass occurs in most cases too fast for your skin to compensate for and depending on how overweight you are you may have some excess flesh that will have to be removed.

My mom had this done and lost over 200 pounds in six months, but the excess flesh never shrunk up.

Wait to see how things look when you are done, then plan it. That’s my advise.

I agree 100%. Wait until you have the new body, then celebrate by its decoration.
