a friend of mine was recently tattooed by one of those new air powered tattoo machines called neuma.. the machine has like a reflective coating on it that when autoclaved, comes off.. some of this chemical got on my friends skin after the machine got out of the autoclave and caused a severe reaction on his skin, permanently scaring his skin and ruining his tattoo…considering theses machines suck at outlining and now it been shown that they cause chemical burns in some people, why does anyone even use these machines?
Hi
The thing is with any type of technology you will have ppl who want to try new stuff and will experiment with it until it;
1. Is clearly shown to be inferior to what is already available.
2. It is considered to be far too hazardous to use on a mass scale ie several hundred reported accidents, injuries and/or deaths (which have been sued for).
3. It is too costly for the benefits of said technology compared to a cheaper rival.
4. It is replaced by better and or cheaper version or alternative.
I am not doing down your friend’s injury and sorry to hear about this but the artist should have clearly not used the machine if it was damaged or was at risk of exposing skin to a corrosive material.
The manufacturer will argue that the liability is with the user of the machine as it could have been replaced without the need for it to come into use with bare flesh.
I am not a lawyer but the crux of the argument is that the artist may have used a machine that was clearly (visibly) defective and so is responsible not the machine itself.
Take Care

oh gosh, i heard about this type of tattooing but i dont think i ever seen a tattoo done by one these machines yet .
I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW DURING YOUR 3 POSTS ABOUT THE NEUMA MACHINES YOU STARTED BY SAYING YOU HAVE SWITCHED OVER TO ONE OF THEM BUT CANT WORK OUT HOW TO USE IT PROPERLY EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE SEEN THEM WORK FINE WHILE BEING USED BY OTHER ASRTISTS, THEN YOU POSTED ABOUT A LAW SUIT AGAINST THE COMPANY MAKING THEM AND WANT EVERYONE TO HELP YOUR CRUSADE, AND NOW YOU ARE SAYING A FRIEND HAS BEEN IN CONTACT WITH ONE AND CAUSED PERMINANT DAMAGE TO THEM……. AND THAT THEY DONT LINE PROPERLY ANY WAY
BASICALLY I DONT THINK YOU ARE A PRO ARTIST, I THINK YOU ARE JUST TRYING TO CAUSE TROUBLE.
IF I HEAR ANYTHING ELSE FROM YOU REGARDING THESE MACHINES THEN I WILL PERSONALLY BAN YOU FROM THE FORUM FOR INSITING TROUBLE.
😡
