hey guys,
im considerin my second tattoo, but im a little dubious as to the quality of work in my local area, so im thinkin about heading into london to find somewhere with better abilities. this would obviously cost me more time and money, but in the end it would be worth it.
it seems to me that while some peices do look quite good, some others look really shoddy.
basically, id appreciate it if some of the knowledgeable sages on ere would have a quick tiny browse through a couple of albums from local artists work, and let me know if id be better served looking outside my area- which looks a better option, and if any look to stand on their own as a good artist.

Hi
To be honest I was not overly impressed with the first artist link – it just did not do it for me.
The second (Julie’s Tattoos) was much better in comparison.
I would recommend Evil From The Needle in Camden they are very good and reputable tattooist.

what is it that you are wanting to get done ?
i personally thought they both looked about the same standard . often the tattoos they put in their online portfolios are not the best choices
hey
thanks for replying
heres what im getting done:

i want it to be the focal point in a 3/4 sleeve, mostly old school, so a fluent looking tattoo.
I actually went into another tattooist (recently opened) near me today, and had a chat with an artist in there who seemed really interested in doing the design – been tattooing for 15 years, said hed take the design and add some colours, make some small adjustments and to come back monday and see what i thought – probably B & W shaded for the dagger and skulls – with some highlighting colours on the flowers and the handle. sounded cool.
first impressions, really interested in my design which was nice, and obviously had alot of knowledge behind him.
on the downside, he didn’t have his portfolio on him – showed me some stuff hed done himself on his legs it looked mega… will be interesting to see what his take on the design is.
sorry for waffling – its what i do

P.S – Sherav, that was exactly the place i was talking about actually 🙂
I saw a chaps sleeve on here who got it done from evil from the neeedle and it looked awesome. also have checked out their online portfolio and it was good.
any idea on the individual tattooist there?
That link didn’t work, I’m interested in old school tattoos 🙂
…oh wait, yes it does
nice , i love old school tattoos .
Hi
For old school i would say the artist mark – he seems to specialise in that area.
That said see how this other artist pans out the work.
Looking forward to sharing your new ink.

hey guys n girls,
have been giving it some more thought and im wondering about whether this could work as part of a lower leg peice? the 3/4 sleeve is something i am definately into , although my work situation means i have to be a little careful. im in employment now, and i could probably get away with it, seeing as my work is fairly casual. the only thing is im using this job as a stop-gap to save up and travel. when i come back i want to get back to seriously finding a career. a large, visible tattoo down the forearm could affect that..
i’ll give it some more thought as i really love the design. just wondering what you guys thought of incorperating into a tattoo covering the leg from the knee down, as a less visible option, also if you had any ideas on what other tattoos would go well with this type of peice.
