I was wondering, is Black and Grey cheaper to get than Color, or is it all based on the artist’s hourly rate?

i think its all to do with level of detail and time. don’t think having colours would affect the price that much tbh.

It’s all based on the artist.

Most good artists will charge by the hour no matter the colors.

some pieces are set prices though… so the question must be for instance “would a coloured dragon cost more than the same dragon in black n grey?”

Hi

In most cases the ink colour makes no difference it is charged either as a set piece or based on time as in the number of hours/sessions required.

For example my backpiece was based on 10 sittings = 30 hrs less if he gets done quicker or a bit more if it takes another sitting. The charge was the same whether I went black and shade or colour.

I would speak with a tattoo artist about what you want doing but as it is on skin for life do not skimp on it leave it and save up.

Take Care
