What would work well with a Japanese crane tattoo as a sleeve for a guy?
Honest opinions, could it work well for a guy or is it a bit feminine?

Thanks
Just so you know, that crane is a gray crowned crane from south africa.
I dont know if that would change anything about what you want, but you could go with an African Savannah theme, or go back to the japanese idea and have a crane wading through a Japanese garden/ koi pond.
Thanks. I was thinking Japanese style.
Not too fem at all. You could even so swirls or yes, add Koi , but no not all all.
Thanks. I think koi fish are bit common. I was thinking the crane in black and grey with some colour scenery, maybe some flowers.
i like. it could look pretty sick
would it be too girly to add cherry blossoms or a bonsai tree – continuing on with the Japanese theme and to add a little bit of color to the otherwise black and grey crane?
An example I found
Thanks everyone, I think it could make a good piece in a Japanese style.
thats a cool piece, post some pics if you get inked
I think it would look great with cherry blossoms and crane tattoos are only feminine if the artist makes it that way in their interpretation.
It is same with any animal/bird you can ‘soften’ the features and make the eyes bigger etc to feminise the piece or not depending on tastes.
As for flowers etc I went for some big orchids on my backpiece because I love flowers and I do not think it looks feminine in the slightest.

Thanks for the replies.
I found another example I like.
I am coming round to the idea of maybe a Koi as well, with some nice scenery, flowers ect done in colour, what do you think?
It will look great done by a potrait artist.
You having the crane resting/standing or even fishing by a stream and the koi swimming past or flying in the air and looking down?

Not sure, nice ideas there though. I think the crane looks better with its wings spread, would I not need to go to a specialist Japanese artist?
Hi
Well it depends on what style you want for it whether it is truely traditional or contemporary/modern – some artists do specialise in Japanese style as their main.
Personal choice really but will look great with crane in flight.
