and contradictory to my plan of only getting one tattoo done, here http://www.thetattooforum.com/first-and-only-tattoo-large-back-t12399.html?t=12399
ive been planning another!
I found an ornament in an abandoned church/chapel type building which really caught my eye!
how well do you think a tattoo artist can transfer that into a tattoo, going from that picture ?
i could go back and get more pictures or even borrow the ornament i suppose if it will help the artist.
Il be getting it done on my left shoulder to start a sleeve
I think as long as you find a talented artist and give them the picture and a little leeway they shoul be able to retranslate that into a tattoo just fine. Just go large enough to get some good details.
It’s definitely do able. Give the artist something to work with. If you want it exactly like that, tell your artist. If you don’t mind them adding some flare, tell them that also. It’s your body so make sure it’s how you want it. The shoulder would be an excellent place for this portrait. It actually wouldn’t be a good idea to do a big say, back piece in this because of how much darkness is in the picture. There really isn’t as much detail (from what I can see) as one may think. But the best thing to do is communicate exactly what you want. The artist will ink you for a couple hours, it will be on you for a lifetime.
i love detail in tattoos, and thats what i was hoping to get from this one even more so than my last one…
i think im best off ‘borrowing’ the ornament so my artist can draw something up and have it more life like!
thanks for the input so far 🙂
