I got this tattoo [my first] done in March 2008,
At first it was Lilac [light purple]. Which was stupid, because I have darker skin and then it looked horrible and gray as it started healing so the tattoo artist decided to put black instead to cover it.
It scarred…
Then I went to another tattoo [and better] artist around October 2008 and got the black done over again, and also a the red outline to even the star out.
Two years later..
I have a scarred tattoo! Its like grayish and the red outline is the only thing that isn’t raised.
What can I do for this? I hate this tattoo! If i do any type of removal will it work? If not What can I do to cover it up, or ADD to it at least? :[ blah.
Please, any suggestions would help.
you can get laser removal, but the scarring will still be there. and, as for adding to it or covering it up, with something tiny like that the options are virtually limitless
Be very carful with removal of any sort.
I am qualified to ofer advice on laser and I for one wouldnt want to treat that.
As a person with dark skin you should be aware that laser will remove some of your natural colour leaving a white mrk.
In addition you have reacted for a reason and I expect you will react to laser or any removal in some way as well.
if you cant get it lasered, but REALLY want it gone, i know this procedure called complete hand removal. PM me for details.
You can try a scar tissue massage. I’m a physical therapist and we tell our pts to do it to reduce scarring and keloid scarring. With you skin tone you are prone to keloids more than others. Take some baby oil and rub over the scar tissue using your thumb. Be sure to be rough with it, I mean really push down hard on the scar. This will help break up and soften some of the scar tissue laid down. I would do it once a day. It will definetly help with the hardness of the scar and over time should flattem ot out. Just try it, it shouldn’t affect your ink in any way. I think its better than the laser alternative. Try it and let me know how it goes, good luck.
