Well, the artist is going to use whatever he/she normally uses. Any reputable artist will use a quality ink so no worries there.

some guys are sponsored by a company (usually Eternal) so they will use all that kind of ink, others use the best from different companies,

there is a HUGE difference in ink qualities, I wanna see StarBrite white, Eternal, Skin Candy. AllaPrima and Intenze colors and a good black, if not, Id have to be asking why,

in quality is very good, even over the last decade and lightyears over 30 years ago, why not get the best stuff put in

What D3FiANC3 said.
That’s trade stuff anyway. Let your professional tattooer worry about that.

thanks for your input, but untimatly i am the customer and i no what i am looking for, that is why i asked this question i I no alot of people in buisness that try and cut cost by useing cheaper products to increase there profit, So i am not going to leave that choice up to anyone but myself that is why im asking around and doing research on different kinds of ink i have the right to no about the quality of ink that is being put in my body . So it looks like this sight was the wrong place to ask a simple question have a good day

I think the point was that you should find a respectable artist NOT someone who’s trying to cut cost and use cheap product. Any real ARTIST is not going to want to put shit product out in the world with their name attached to it. Yeah, you can go find a scratcher who’s in it to make a quick buck and doesn’t give a shit. Anyone who is making a career at their art is not going to use cheap tattoo ink, paint, pencils, canvas, paper etc. for their work and expect to keep their name for very long.

Find the right artist, and by all means ask what they’re using and why. Just remember that any experienced artist is going to know far better than you do what’s going to work for the particular tattoo and may take some offense at being questioned.

I understand what you’re saying, but if you think you are going to dictate to a respected artist what type of ink he/she uses, then you’ve got another thing coming. Surely, you can ask what type of ink they use, but if you don’t approve, you are going to have to move on to the next artist.

p.s. With that s**t attitude, there’s no good site to ask your questions.

whoa……..please yes, do not dictate to any established artist what he or she is going to use ink wise, like I said to you, if you dont see what you like on his or her workspace, dont book them, artists (I am one in a different medium) are picky about what they use and would not accept ciriticism about their choices very well………instead of upsettign everyones apple cart, move onto the next artists of your choice.

I will say, I have never seen a real pro try to use some crap ink, it behooves an artist to spend the money on good ink, the final product looks better and lasts a long time, thats their business card

With that attitude you’re going to piss your artist off and he’ll tattoo a penis on you. Make sure you choose a good artist so that it’s a nice penis.
