Hello all,

as a topic, intrigued by the meaning of tattoo Blessed, but I never found a specific explanation, except that it is a tattoo religious (Christian). The more familiar I would ask for an answer. Thanks and best regards.

Do you mean the Sacred Heart tattoo?

This is sometimes known as the blessed tattoo.

It is from the Catholic/Greek Orthodox/Lutheran imagery relating to the physical heart of JC as part of the redemption of Christ ritual (his wounded heart showing his love and suffering etc).

Variances of where it came from some say from middle ages catholic mysticism others state it was part of the 5 wounds which I think was venerated by the Franciscan Order.

TBH I am a bit rusty on this side of theology but I am sure you can you can google it as this is off top of my head.
