I have one tattoo. I got it when I was 19 and I am 30 now. It’s about 4 or 5 inches tall. I want to get it covered up with the the tattoo of the koi fish. Is this possible and how much bigger would it have to be? Since I have brown skin what colors would be good to color the fish so that they can show? The cat originally had a red nose and green eyes. The green is still green, but the red blended into my skin. I would like blues, pinks, and purples. I’m hoping I could get it covered up with the koi, but if not I may have to suffer with it and get the koi tattooed on my arm.IMG_20120420_213136-1-1-1.jpg Koi_Tattoo_by_chriselucas.jpg

    Hello,

    Welcome to the forum!

I’m not going to pretend to be an artist that deals with this type of issue. I work in steel, copper, and brass.
Just looking at the general shape of both the tattoo and the koi artwork, I don’t see how the koi will cover up the cat.
I would suggest flowers of some type. Do you have any favorites?
Blues, pinks, and purples? If the red blended in, and koi are usualy orange to red-orange that may have a problem holding up. Turquois. The cat’s body is somewhat vase shaped, How about a turquois vase or pitcher with flowing flowers?
    I’ll be thinking of this.

    Later, Sam

Sure it looks like that could cover it. You look to be a sister so make sure when researching and choosing an artist that they have plenty of experience working with darker skin. Good luck.

That looks more like a Betta fish than a Koi.

Hi I thought so too, but I did a search of Butterfly Koi and they seem to have long fancy fins. Not as much as the drawing. butter3.jpgbutter2.jpgkoi.jpg

I was looking at the narrow part of the fish between the head and tail. I guess a good artist could surely draw it to cover the whole cat.

Please post some photos when it’s done.

Hello Im a newbie on this forum, but a cover up specialist, I love doing them not saying Im the best I just take great pride in them, back to point A koi would most indeed cover that tattoo, but choose your artist carefully, make sure he has a bunch of good coverups under his belt, do your research and youll be happy with the results
