Hi and welcome to the forum 🙂 I’m also new in here, and would like to share some experience.

Start out by reading a lot, your questions my already be answered.
By reading before you post, you will also get familiar who people are, who knows what they are talking about, who are the trolls and most important the general tone in here! 
Many new people are surprised with the harsh tone in here, and sometimes you might think you got a short harsh answer! Try asking people to go more in depth with there answer, most people will return and explain there answer better. I see a lot of people asking a question and never coming back, could be they don’t like the answer, they think he/she is an asshole and thinks they won’t get any help here! Don’t run away, ask more questions and if people can see you really want to listen and learn, you will get some really qualified advice.

If you were 100% sure of the tattoo idea you wouldn’t come in here.. So listen to what people say, take the best advice with you and talk to your tattoo artist about the idea.
When choosing an tattoo artist, do your self a favor.. Research research and research, most likely it will be on your body the rest of your life!! 
When I came in here I already had a tattoo artist in mind, was told he was OK but nothing more than average!..  I could not see what was wrong with him.. but sticking around in here and seeing better artists work, I learned what to look for.. and in the end I got myself a much better artist!! DON’T rush out and get your tattoo, RESEARCH!!!
If you already got your tattoo and god forbid people thinks it sucks, live with it, laser it or get a cover up! Don’t be angry if people don’t like you tattoo, I may not be the best technical made tattoo, the idea was bad or just something that person don’t like..
 If you like it, don’t care what they say and be proud of it!

Remember most people in here hates tribal and text tattoo 🙂
