As long as the disaster that is Guantanamo continues, I don’t understand that anyone would die for that country… But then again, I suppose you need to experience that level of brainwashing(sorry, but it’s the only applicable term I could think of), to understand it.
I understand that they’ve done a remarkable job for centuries in building national pride, understandably for a country so young and with so little history. I have a lot of respect for those who serve in war, but well… Just Guantanamo and the support given Israel is enough for me to not be very supportive to the ones sending them to war. I’m happy to be Norwegian, but I’m very disappointed by the way our government insists on kissing the US’ ass. (and is Fox News real or are you all just fucking with us? Please tell me you are!)

You assume the majority of people know who Guy Fawkes is and don’t just call it “the 4Chan mask.”
There’s a certain level of brainwashing that comes with patriotism. I think you can reject current ideology of the government and be passionately devoted to the founding beliefs of something, if that makes sense.
