A smoldering fire is doable, but for the embers to really stand out they need a little draft to keep them bright.
What’s the fuel? Wood, coal, charcoal,,,,
Do you want a lot of puffy smoke, or wisps of smoke?
Do you want anything “in” the smoke like symbols or even profiles of people or animals?
How big do you want your tattoo and where do you want it?
You could have the fire on your foot and have your whole leg wrapped in clouds of smoke.

Was gonna have it most likely a wood fire. One that’s more or less just coals,embers.
Wasn’t thinking of putting anything in the smoke yet, still plotting how I want it all. Was thinking side/back or a half sleeve but I like the foot idea.
Will definitely post any updates here for those interested
