Very dull colours will remain exactly that. dull
i would say either leave ti black and grey or go for some bright reds for the scroiption and try for a reflective style on the sword.

So maybe something like this is what you mean?
I personally prefer black/shade but if you are getting a scorpion redone I reckon it needs plenty of hues and colour.
Why not expand the red-brown hues across the body of the scorpion, you could even get a mix of colours so that the light ripples across the carapace and get the blood a vivid scarlet.
The blade could be made to stand out more with a thicker outline and some white along the blade.
Lol I could go on for hours… but do what you feel comfrotable with and can’t wait to see the end result.
