Here’s a healed up pic of my hammerhead shark tattoo. I promised Sherav a better pic in case there was a spot in the compilation for it.

Would this just be considered tribal, or would there be a better term for it?

No, not my own. I have zero artistic ability. I knew I wanted a shark tattoo, but hadn’t decided on what. I didn’t want anything too common. I stumbled upon this guy in a google image search and fell in love. The original art had an orange and red counterpart of a different species that was quite striking as well.

Cliff at New Addiction Tattoo in Marietta did this for me. He said it wound up being a lot more labor intensive than he originally thought. I absolutely love it, although some people don’t quite get what it is at first. I thought it was pretty clearly a hammerhead shark, am I wrong?

    Hi

That is one beautiful pic and it would be an honour to use that in an up coming project I am working.
Full accreditation will be given to yourself and artist – it looks really sweet.

Personally I would just class it as custom with tribal influences – but yep it looks like a shark to me.

I think because it is so eye catching that people are getting absorbed in the details without the mind looking at it as a whole – sign of great art.

    ” awesome tribal ” ๐Ÿ˜€

i have some of this style of work in my flash and it is just filed under animal tribal

this is unusual because it is not the dreaded all black tribal that people normally have obliterated over their body, its nice to see something different and with a twist… nice pice of work you chose and kudos to the artist as well
