I would have gone to a better artist. It’s really not that good, theres too much empty space. The line work is thin and the colors really don’t work together. Overall poor job.
Just my opinion, if you like it, it doesn’t matter. Have you even looked online at some Sugar Skulls? There are tons of references.

I agree with Topdog, too much white space; I like these when the entire skull is filled with the little bits of different colors with lots of reds. I do dig the “idea” of diamonds for eyes, just not this application.
In the end, it’s your tattoo and you are the only one that has to like it.
