My sassy pinup I got last night. In the pic it’s still a bit red, I took it just after I washed it this morning.
the proportions of the figure are really off, and im not saying this to hate on the tattoo cause i think its cool but coulda been done much better. the left foot is huge compared to the other, the eyes are to far apart, her right thigh is jacked up, but i really like the background. i just think if your artist took a couple life drawing classes this would have been a lot nicer.
Sorry man, but I completely agree with clay on this. Artist seems to have potential though.
Cheers,
Marcus
I’m sorry, I just don’t think it’s a great tattoo. Cool concept, and I hope you can have it re-worked at some point to fix it!
Its OK its light and bright.
But what was your model for the pin up?
Was this the inspiration?

Ok… How did you get into my bedroom?
I would look into getting it reworked. I love pinup tattoos, though. Your idea was really good. I just think the artist dropped the ball here. I would make sure to research a bit about the artist before trusting someone to put ink on you.
Weird, I saw it and instantly thought blow-up doll, too.
So, between getting a new computer set up and life in general getting in the way, it’s taken a few days to get back on. I expected honest opinions, and here they are. Not that every opinion is the poster’s own, rather than a parroting of someone else’s; but that only applies to a couple.
There are a couple of flaws that I noticed after the swelling went down, that I didn’t pick up on when I okayed the stencil. Mostly however, the proportions likely seem off in this photo due to the swelling and the angle. As soon as it gets more or less done peeling, I’ll take a better pic. One foot is definitely a little bigger than the other, and should have been at a higher angle. One eye is a slightly different shape than the other, and that’s what stands out, not the distance between the two. The thighs are just fine. That being said, when I look at the work, what I like about it surpasses the flaws.
The artist has been tattooing for several years, he’s done both of my previous tattoos, he has certainly the cleanest shop in a town of more than 80,000 people, and I had no reason not to trust that he would do a great job when I booked the appointment. He offers one free touch up within a year of every tattoo he does, and he made it a point to remind me of this during the appointment due to the fact that my skin (on the inside of my right bicep) was so red and irritated toward the end that he couldn’t quite see some of the colors going in. He would rather do a touch up than hamburger the skin. So after it heals fully, I’ll go in and see what we can do. Settle down.
So eat it and keep the blow up doll jokes to yourself. If you don’t like MY opinion, please reference the gesture that the figure in my tattoo is making.
If you like it and are happy with it that is all that matters.
But the face does make me think of a blow up doll too. Not trying to be a bitch, just being honest. Maybe those of us who automatically saw a blow up doll need to get our minds out of the gutter :-p
