    Masquerade Girl on my left arm done by Mike DeVries at MD Tattoo Studio. It took two long sessions, so that meant I got to take two trips to sunny California.

    It’s kind of a bad cellphone camera picture taken in a mirror, so it’s reversed, but it’s a great piece.

    It looks okay. Will there be more around the bottom? I think some feathers fanning out / down would help.
    What is the history of the artwork?

    There is a way better picture of it on Mike DeVries website, taken in natural light just after it was completed. If you go to his site it is in the MISC INK gallery. Then you can get a way better idea of the color.

    I collect mardi gras/venetian/cirque du soleil type masks so I had originally asked Mike for a mask with eyes and sent him a few pictures of they type of mask that I was looking for. He started with one of the masks then added some details from another one and then added all the rest of the girl and feathers and when I saw what he had planned for me there was no way I could say no. I never thought in a million years that I would be sporting any of his work but am so happy that I got the chance.

    He left it so that I can put some more work on my arm in the future, if I want. No plans for that spot yet, but you know how that goes.

    Not NIX. Way cooler vacation stuff to do in California than in Toronto. Got to come down to Cali. Twice!!
