Yesterday was my appointment with TattooIsh at the Vancouver Tattoo and Culture Show. I asked for a Mardi Gras/Venetian Carnival mask and here is what he came up with.
It has a whole lot of detail, so it took a minute or two to tattoo, but I think it turned out amazingly. It wraps around and there are some great details that a straight on view picture misses so I’ll get some more pics later – after the swelling goes down. The stuff around the sides, that can’t be seen in this photo are like what he did at the wrist and elbow.
Awesome!
That is a true work of art!
Nothing bad from me to say about this!
Its gorgeous! Love it 🙂
She’s lovely!
Looks a little like Uma Thurman. That’s not a bad thing.
Thanks guys, I’m loving her, too. I’ve named her Isabella, because she is a beauty, the belle of the masquerade ball.
And the artist, Ish, is such a nice guy. I went back again today for the contests and spent a few more hours with him and his family, and watched him work on a sleeve. They were all very nice to be around. If you like his style he may be in your neighbourhood soon, he is currently on a world tour.
Very cool it looks great. Who was the artist again?
His name is Ish Schuurbiers. Online he goes by TattooIsh, and is from Curacao in the Caribbean. Very talented. The mask (including the face) he stenciled from a reference photo. The rest he free-handed on with markers.
My first experience getting a tattoo at a convention, and my first free-hand. Also my longest sitting to date at 8 hours. I may not be at peterpoose level, but I am a beast!! 😉
Congrats! Tattooish is a very good artist!
Bloody lovely that, congratulations!
Love the intensity in her eyes, that’s a superb piece 🙂
Triple views so that you can see it from both sides as well as from the front. I’m not sure if this link will work, but gonna try:
