Check out my albums not only do I have the line work done on my side for you to look at but as well, take a look at the album labeled, “ink I like” I posted and you should see a ribpanel peice of a phoenix in the somewhere if I can help anymore lemme know. It’s rad your artist let you wear a stencil like that before getting the ink done. Warning: ever had a tattoo done yet? The ribpanel is excruciating…good luck with it.

oh wow! thanks for ur reply 😀 so helpful! lol and yes i know everyone says that this is the most painful place to get it done!!

he im kinda scared but in a way looking frward to the pain haha like wen i got my tongue pierced i was an adrenilin pump haha (yes im aware that this will hurt way more than a tongue piercin haha) but yea im kinda skinny too, will it hurt more on my hip bone?

thanks agen for ur post, im jst checking out ur pics now!! 😀

ps my first tatt ever 😀 i thort i’d go for sumthing big rather than small, my tattoist said that most ppl he tattoos regret their smaller ones 90% more than the biger tatts!

so may as well go all out on a big piece i love 😀

i would just like to start with a big welcome to the forum, there are some fab people on here.

that is a big piece for your first and yes your choice of placement is an uncomfortable place to have done, but no pain no gain :p
it is going to be an awsome piece, but when you said less detailed…. its unusual, normally people go big pieces to have more detail .. just my 2 pennies worth.

i cant wait to see this piece, dont forget to post pickies up, and when are you having it done ?

Welcome to it… nice design… I like the idea of bigger but it’s upto you of course… it may hurt a bit when on your ribs like that so keep that in mind. Is it going to be your first tatt?

You’re skinny like I am. It hurts the most over the ribs and hip. When he got to my back it hurt less. It’s pretty miserable to sit through. I’ve only had the linework done so far. There will be shading of black and gray and the only color will be on the cherry blossoms: pink. Thank you very much for the compliments. Tattoos and peircings feel nothing alike in my opinion. The difference is that the pain stops when the artist stops; a peircing throbs.

Hi! I agree with you going for a big tattoo that you completely love, rather than going for a small one just because that’s what people tell you to do!
My tattoo goes from my ribs to my hip and I found the pain on my ribs pretty darn awful, but it’s worth it if it’s something you really want. The bit over my hip bone hurt slightly less (although still a heck of a lot more than the bits on my abdomen), but has taken ages to heal! The rest of it is completely fine now but my hip is still red and has lots of scabby ink on it.

lOl thats what i was telling myself (no pain no gain!) yea i was thinking to have it more detailed but in looking at a few pieces, the more detailed they are the harder it is to make out the picture, as u can see this stencil placed on mybody, its very detailed and somewhat cluttered so i’d like detail but not as much as in this picture i want to have my idea all sorted out by end of this month and try get in sumwhere by feburary (before my bday) i’m going to start saving up now for it, my artists that i have in mind charges (AUS) $160/ hr

yup i will have it bigger than that for sure, bigger and more upright, and yup it’ll be my first! lol 😀

lol yea true about piercings lol my tongue was soOo painful after but getting it done was easy lol!

and getting the cherry blossoms done in pink i think will look hott amongst the black and grey shading of the dragon 🙂 i’m thinking of including sumthing on my tatt like a flower or somethin else, like to brighten up the blak and grey shading but i’m still deciding.

yea alot of ppl say to go small to ‘test it out’ but hmm i’d rather go all out for sure! how come it is taking so long to heal?

k well i went to another tattoist yesterday and i found some heaps nice pics they had and they charge 120/hr, its such a hard decision on where to go here are a few i’ve been looking at:

    http://www.fantasyink.com.au
    http://www.steellotus.com
    http://www.innervisiontattoo.com.au

like how do you know when you’ve found the right place? those three all have waiting lists too, which i dont mind as long as its not longer than 6mnths lol

I’d go for this artist at Inner Vision Tattoo: http://www.innervisiontattoo.com.au/photos/cliffe01.html personally. His work is the style you like and he seems the best at it. Besides… all of the other websites were ridiculous to navigate and their work wasn’t all that spectacular. Go to the Cliffe as your first choice or Kian/Rhys as your second.

well i went there yesterday and after seeing kians portfolio i was soo impressed (theyr all colour, except a few) and i asked how lomng is the waiting list, 18mnths!!!!! lol hmmm the also charges 220/hr :S his pretty damn good and his work is beautiful, but thats a long ass wait!

im thinking of steel lotus, dean has some nice work i was looking at, quite similar to that of kians i’ll call up today and see what he thinks. does anyone know of any artists in sydney that you may reccomend for my style of tatt?
