Obviously I’m new on this site, otherwise i wouldnt be posting here… lol.
My friends call me Cheech, I’m 17 years young, no tattoos yet but as soon as my birthday comes in about a week I hopefully will get one. My parents absolutely HATE tattoos but I’m finding more and more that my dad is more understanding about them than my mom is… so hopefully he will let me on my birthday.
Unfortunately for me i ask A LOT of questions, SO IF I AM COMING OFF AS ANNOYING PLEASE FEEL FREE TO TELL ME!!

Well thats really all i can think of atm so ill leave the rest for u all to find out 😛

Well as long as people don’t decide to use my posts as an open chat or tell me what I should be doing, well be fine. I only ask questions looking for serious answers, unlike at tattoofreaks.

    Leave. Leave now!

My man, we tend to A) answer all questions with serious and correct information (especially Matthew, Outlaw, and Izzy. Those guys know their shit and usually beat me to it), and B) ramble. Alot.

Seriously, a few weeks ago someone asked a legit question, and after we answered it, the conversation somehow turned to a discussion of 18th century harlotry and the sexual diseases Matthew may or may not have picked up due to his alleged patronage of prostitutes.

I guess what I’m saying is that we have ADHD.

but please remember that in a forum its always open discussion and not everybody gets the replies they want all the time

I’m not saying u guys won’t help me…all I’m saying is that before I only asked for help on a design…1 person answered me seriously and everyone else just decided that because I am 16 I don’t matter… People were yelling at me for being a minor and criticizing my design and telling me how much I suck. So as long as u guys are seriously trying to answer me, then I’m fine about people being ADHD cause I am too 😛

Well, dude, if your design sucks, we’ll tell you, and only Matthew will be nice about it. We’d (read I’d) rather hurt your feelings than see you with a shitty tattoo for life.

well I know I’m not the best artist…. Just look at my other post. I don’t care if my drawing sucks… It’s just my interpreation of my ideal design.

I did check it out…but you aint’ gonna like it.

Also, stop fucking whining about how well you draw. For 16, you ain’t bad. Hell, I’m in art school and I’m not entirely sure I could draw that symetical without some serious effort.

Thanks for your input and tips on it, but I don’t mean to completely down ur comment but I’m 99.99% sure that’s what I’m getting.

And when did I brag about my drawing? All I said was I wasn’t the best. I never said I was amazing. I actually think I suck so u can’t say I was bragging.

I said stop whining. As in stop making excuses for sucking. You’re not that bad. Honestly, I have no freaking clue how you got the idea I thought you were bragging. That’s the complete opposite of what I said.

this is where it all started going wrong on another board…. its the 16yr old attitude that keeps barking out.
im not bagging on you for your age cheech so dont bother quoting me .

what you havent mentioned this time round is that you wanted a tattoo and your parents said no…. because they dont like them.
So your idea was to get a tattoo and use the excuse that it was for a memorial to the loss of your dog.
making out it was for helping you to get over the loss your father agreed to letting you have it done.

on the other forum.. most peoples thoughts were that you were getting it for the wrong reasons, decieving your parents and also getting it at such a young age.

but then you started bitching and swearing at professional artists that were giving some good advice.

im heading out of this topic now and aint returning……

I understand completely what you are saying about the other forum and having wrong reasons for this, but the reason I have behind this is that my dog actually saved my life when i was 10 and I literally am forever greaful to him even if he is gone.

So in my eyes that is a for sure good enough reason to get that.

    Hi

    My thoughts are this.

I got my first tattoo when I was in my mid 20’s. I have loved tattoos ever since I was a young child. Growing up I met a lot of people who were covered in them.

I remember saying to one guy (I was around 10) how is it some of your tattoos are great and others sucked?

He just laughed and went ‘the sucky ones were my baby tats’.

    I asked what he meant and he said that he had been getting tattoos from the age of 14 and that a load of them he is getting covered up for 2 reasons;

    1. They were rushed jobs and were poor artwork. He couldn’t wait to get inked and just thought having any ink was ‘cool’.

    2. They no longer of any real meaning as when he passed from his teens to his 30’s his tastes had completely changed as had he as a person.

Many of my friends got inked in their teens (there was pet shop in my area who would tattoo pretty much anybody over the age of 14) every one of them in their 30’s has now had some serious cover up ink.

All of the above influenced my decisions about my tattoos. I have spent 7 years planning the backpiece design I am getting (full-back) because no way I can cover that up with new ink.

Getting a memorial of a dog is a great reason for a tattoo.

What I am asking is this –

Are you getting the tattoo because you loved that dog and want to commorate their life which is always a part of you?

    Or

Are you getting a tattoo because: you want to be cool, rebellious, get one over your parents, pull hot girls etc etc?

Only you know the answer but if it is any of the reasons other than the dog I would wait and really think hard on it.

    Take care
    Matthew
