    Hi Joey

Welcome to the forum and looking forward to seeing your tattoo.
The moderators do not allow unlicensed tattoo discusions or how to tattoo on this site.

That said if you look up Outlaw (one of the mods) he has a link in his signature of a forum that would answer all your questions.

i never said i was doing or going to do any unlicensed tattooing. i was only asking about equipment and figured that i could ask ya know. and also as soon as i get some current pics ill post em up. is this forum like most others you have to have 10 posts or more to post pics?

I’d say, the way to go about becoming a tattoo artist would be through an apprenticeship, which i am trying to gain right now, but the artist i’m interested in apprenticing under currently has 2 other apprentices under her wing right now so i’ll have to keep drawing and hanging around the tattoo shop until my time has come.

I wouldn’t mind buying a tattoo gun and kit and going ahead and tattooing on some grapefruit/oranges/bananas or something like that, to start getting an early feel for it before i even start an apprenticeship, but i’m far from comfortable doing skin until i’ve completed, at minimum a year of apprenticing under an actual acredited tattoo artist.

Just a suggestion, i mean, you could obviously go ahead and buy a kit and start doing stuff right off… but you’d gain alot more through an apprenticeship.

Welcome to the forum though, i’m a total n00b aswell…

    Hi

No you can post in your album or direct to the thread of what you are discussing. There is no post limit that I have seen.

The post I made was not meant to amke you feel unwelcome but from past experience even the discussion of equipment has been locked before – which is why I suggested Outlaw’s forum.

It is a very good place to start out on all the tech questions and methods etc.

Looking forward to seeing your work.

    Take care
    Matthew
