Hello all, Im new here. I havent really looked for a tattoo forum before and was surprised when I found one lol. I am 18 and live in NS, Canada, I have 23 tattoos and one piercing. My father is a tattoo artist as is all his good friends. He taught me how to tattoo and my ex-boyfriend did also. I have been tattooing now for about 2 years. I started off using a homemade tat machine  why i dont know, then I learned how to use a professional machine. From there I bought my own supplies and away I went. I am buying another one shortly, and am really interested in maybe opening my own shop some day. Anyway, before I ramble on any more…:D Nice to meet everyone.

Thank you for the welcome. My father is Travis Tremblay, he doesnt own his own shop but he has worked in quiet a few in Ontario, not sure which ones but will ask him. My bad about the unlicensed discussion, although it is my understanding that here where I live (Nova Scotia, Canada) it is only the shop/parlor itself that needs to be licensed, not the artists who work there, that is because there is no official government regulated training for the art of tattooing, it is just common sense that someone who is wanting to be a tattoo artist would get the proper training they need through an apprenticeship. Now I may be wrong on this, but I am pretty sure Im correct, Ill have to check it out lol.
I will post some of my tats on here as soon as I can, I have alot, and most of them need to be touched up because they were done with a homemade gun (no I didnt do them myself lol). But most of them are looking great once I had them touched up with a pro machine. Anyways, uumm, Outlaw if you maybe have any information about tattoo licenses here in NS Canada, could you PM me and let me know?

So basically you’re telling us, you don’t have proper training and you have shitty ink because they were from a homemade gun?

No no no, I do have some training, just the basics though that were taught to me by my father, I am currently looking for an apprenticeship that I can afford, they want me to have my own supplies though, so I am looking for good equipment. All of my ink is fine when it comes to cosmetic detail (I would not let anyone put something permanent on my body unless they knew exactly what they were doing) its just faded out in some spots. Why in the world is everyone attacking me???

everyone is not attacking you , no one is allowed to talk about unlicensed tattooing here , for those in countries that do not need a license you will have to prove that you work in a tattoo shop as a tattooist..
these rules are on the forum somewhere.

we talk about tattoos, designs etc .
outlaw has a forum you can join for tattooing help which is seperate from this forum .

and biker is just speaking his mind :D:rolleyes:

no one is attacking you. I’ll take a moment to explain in detail.

This forum is here for those who are tattoo enthusiasts and piercing enthusiasts to discuss their tattoo ideas, share their ink, discuss the existence of shops and which ones are any good, and to share information, network and make friends.

But when a site like this opens it invariably draws those who do not know how to tattoo, or have a vague idea of how to tattoo. They reason that if they ask questions they will find the information they need here. Then they will go out and buy equipment that they don’t know how to use. maintain, or work on. Then they will take that equipment and screw someone up. Because most of them don’t know what BBP’s are, they don’t know how to prevent them and people get sick because of them. Becasue they think Sterilization is a providence of Russia, they use dirty stuff and transmit more diseases.

Thus we don’t allow that discussion here. We will not help you find a distributor to purchase your stuff, we will not give you tips on how to use your stuff, we will not advise you on how to care for your stuff, because we won’t be responsible for who you screw up.

If your dad is a pro tattoo artist, then you should have no problem getting an apprenticeship. My ten year old already knows more about sterilization, cleaning, and drawing that most of these kitchen Queens out there. If your dad will give you an apprenticeship then you can PM TurboSatan here on the forum, send them a copy of the shop’s tattoo license where you work at, and a phone number at the shop where she can confirm your employment there, and you will be added to the pro artist group where you can discuss these things in their proper place.

Until then keep the discussion away from these things and we will welcome and embrace you warmly.

If you want to discuss these things on a forum, PM Outlaw and get his forum’s address and discuss it there.

This was the very long way of telling you precisely what Outlaw said.

Ooohhh ok, I’m very sorry for sounding dumb lol, I wont discuss that here dont worry, I am just looking for a place with people who are as into tattoos as I am, I’m sure discussing designing them is okay though right? I’m not interested in discussing techniques or anything like that, and my dad doesnt work in a shop anymore, he used to, but if I do get an apprenticeship then I will do that. Sorry about the mix up. I totally understand now though.
Lets start over…My name is Nicole (Nikki), my father is a tattoo artist, I love to draw and design tattoos, my future goal is to open my own shop someday. I am looking for some friends that are as into tattoos and designing them as I am. = )

I have to say I am excited at seeing your ink – 23 tats did you go for a theme or a partial suit?
There are some great ppl on here and they are seriously into their ink and the ink of others.

Nope no theme or partial suit, I went and (stupidly) got my boyfriends name in a banner around a heart when I was 16, after that I was seriously hooked on tattoos, so got more and more. I will deff post some pictures, some of my tats are the one I mentioned above which is on my outer calf, an iguana on my inner calf, the chinese symbol for “hope” on the top of my foot, the “eye of Ra” on the top of both my hands, “l-o-v-e” on the knuckles of my right hand, “h-a-t-e” on the knuckles of my left, barbed wire around my right wrist, a heart and shamrock on the outside of my lower right arm, a tribal sun with the yin-yang sign above that, a play boy bunny on my right shoulder, a butterfly on the outside of my lower left arm, a heart and banner above that, two hearts with banners with my brother and sisters name on my left shoulder, the Lamborghini logo on my left shoulder blade, a huge cross that says “dad” on my right shoulder blade, that ones for my step dad who died in ’04 another cross with two angels on my lower back (one angel isnt done yet though)….those are just some of them lol
