I am a 22 year old female living in the USA. I have 5 tattoos, starting when I was 18, all of them represent things I can relate to and which have some sort of significance to me. I am an artist of sorts myself, just not one that has experience in the tattoo medium 🙂
I’ll list my tattoos here, with an image, location, and a brief explanation.

This bird tattoo is located around my left breast, over my heart. To me it is a symbol of rising above your current situation…. like soaring above your surroundings. Being a spectator without getting caught up in the murky and mundane aspects of physical existence/life.

This isn’t the best photo of this one… although the first guy did mess it up so I had to get it fixed up. This is it after the fix. Candycanes because I was born on Christmas day. It’s on my lower back on the right side.

This one was designed for me by the bassist of my favorite band of 6 years which is called Dredg. The guy’s name is Drew.
He does their album artwork and I contacted him about this and he did the design for me. It’s based on the lyrics from my favorite song by Dredg which is called Triangle. (Thus the upside down triangle).

this one was mostly for fun. It’s the fairy Navi from the Zelda N64 game I grew up playing. She was the most annoying sidekick ever, always yelling “HEY! LISTEN!” to get your attention haha.

This one I just got today. It’s from Dalí’s painting “The Burning Giraffe”. The meaning behind this figure in the painting is a reference to the development of understanding of psychology, which was pretty new at the time. Dalí admired Freud very much. The drawers in the figure are symbomic of the secrets of the human psyche that are waiting to be unlocked. Dalí has been a big inspiration in my own personal artwork for years. His art has always pushed me to break mental boundaries and free my creativity. This one is on my left forearm and its only got the basics done, i go back in 3 weeks to get it cleaned up and ahaded more.
I can’t say I think much of Freud, but I like that Dali piece.
