I am an artist who makes portraits of people with Tattoo’s and once the portrait subject has passed on from this life they sell me their tattoo’s to include in their portrait. If you are an organ donor the hospital will not use your tattoo skin for grafts and or tissue banks it will be discarded and probably burnt. So it is a big waste of not only your great skin but the whole creation in general. Please see examples of portraits I have done which await their owners tattoo’s at http://www.eartist.com/jamie.html – the subjects estate will be paid upon donation and also be paid proceeds if the portrait is resold. The tattoo is fused to the canvas and sealed for preservation. I dont take every tattoo and subject but choose carefully after an interview process.
