Hey everyone! Just wanted to say hello. It’s my first post and I hope to be on the forum for a long time to come!
I had a quick question, and if there’s a specific place to put this question, my apologies, just kindly direct me.
Got my 8th tattoo a little over 2 weeks ago, on my left forearm, and it’s healing quite different than the others. Normally what i’ve been doing is putting on a thin layer of unscented lubriderm a few times a day until it’s all healed, and as needed as routine.. I was trying something a little different with this one, I’ve been applying a thin coat of either 100% vitamin E oil, and sometimes swapping that with 100% cocoa butter stick. Seems to have been working well, but this tattoo seems to be taking longer to heal than the rest of mine. It seems I’ve already gone through the “silver skin” stage, but now what’s happening is the tattoo is still kinda blurry and a little faded, but it feels like I have a tough layer of skin on top of it, it feels almost like calloused skin, and there’s still a kind of “sheen” on top of it, which i’m assuming is a layer of skin I don’t want. So what i’ve been doing is letting it “dry heal” for the last day or so and letting it flake, see what happens. Anyone run into this situation? Did I overmoisturize? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you guys so much!
welcome to the forum,
I would stick with your original aftercare plan, I have never heard of success with vitamin e oil and coccoa butter,
