I designed it, with my artist taking my idea over the top. Its a memorial tattoo for my grandfather. He loved the water and owned a marina for 50 years, hence the nautical star. He was a mechanic all his life, which the gear represents. The filigree was how my grandmother ever so slightly took the edge off his stern/harsh (more like tell it like it is) demeanor. And he was German, and always talked highly of his father a german master machinist. I picked the colonial german eagle as it also resembled the american eagle. He took pride in how he worked for Henry Ford and always loved american workmanship, and disliked how we have went offshore for many things, and have lost the edge in workmanship. There is much more but that is the gist.
These are pics a couple hours after. Cant wait to see it after it heals… The shading ad detail are amazing… I cant wait to get another!
