My name is Paul and i recently bought a tattoo shop with my brother and my best friend. I was wondering if anyone had any advice about owning a tattoo shop. I mean i’ve been around tattoos my whole and know some about the tattoo business but not a whole lot. Any advice will be helpful.

    I… I… No. I can’t process.
    You’re an idiot.

I could actually provide plenty of advice. But the most important ones? Know what you’re doing before you buy a tattoo shop.
You know, things like; Be a professional tattoo artist. Know how to run and manage a business. Learn about the economics of running a business.
Understand how to calculate cost, income, taxes. Learn laws and regulations. Things that are kinda too late to start learning once you’ve bought one.

Clearly you’ve done neither because then you wouldn’t be asking here.

    I second that.

It you’re not a tattoo artist you will not be putting resources into a shop, you’ll be taking them out. The artist I deal with worked at a “corporation run” shop and got to keep a percentage of what he charged a client. he now works a an “Artist owned” shop and gets to keep around 45% more.

Good luck, you’re going to need it.

My brother is the tattoo artist and ive already owned another tattoo shop before with my brother. Also im not an idiot, its not the first time I’ve done this. Im nore the promoter/advertiser for the shop. He is more the owner but he cant have anything in his name because of his past.

If you’ve owned a shop before you should know how it’s done.

Well the advice im looking for is that the shop has gone through different owners and the artists are there. Its a turnkey tattoo shop. How much should i put into the shop? How much should i give the owner of the building? Is 22,000 to much or am i getting a good deal?

That totally depends on the value of the place. As said; You should know these things.
There will be a rent agreement for the venue, this is most likely non-negotiable except maybe minor adjustments. How much to put into the shop depends on the value of it.
Things IMPOSSIBLE to calculate without a proper evaluation. Completely impossible online. These are honestly the very basics on business, if you don’t know how to go forward with these things.. I suggest you start learning before doing.
